Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan: Topping the flop’s chart

Biggest names of the industry do not always mean a great movie, nor does spending hefty amounts in the film. But when such biggies associated with the films fail to salvage them, one thing is for sure that happens they make names in the top flop’s chart. In 2010 the credit goes to Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan.

All these three actors with their directors have contributed in giving the biggest hyped movies with duds in the box-office. Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan being the buddies, have two films in their credit that bombed in the box-office. They should be happy that they stand in the same level where flops are concerned in 2010.

The Bachchan junior and the Roshan junior had two films released this year and both came and went without a ripple, though the hype before the release was noteworthy. Abhishek had ‘Ravaan’ with Mani Ratnam as director and ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ with Ashutosh Gowarikar in the helm, but both were something that the audience preferred to stay away from.

Hrithik Roshan came out of his dad’s wing and tried to fly with Mexican actress Barbara Mori in ‘Kites’, but Anurag Basu was not good in handling the string it seems, so the film could not soar. Next up was ‘Guzaarish’ with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and in spite of the opulence on-screen the film was not showered with the lavish attendance in the theatres.

But the guys were left behind by Abhishek’s wife Aishwarya Rai, she is this year’s topper in giving the maximum number of flops. She had four mega budget movies with famed directors this year and it was only with Rajnikanth that her film worked, and the courtesy is given to the South Indian demi-god for the success of ‘Robot’. Aishwarya started the year with hubby Abhishek in ‘Raavan’ and it failed, next was ‘Robot’ and after that another slew of bombs in the box-office with ‘Action Replayy’ and ‘Guzaarish’.
