Aishwarya Rai, the stunningly beautiful bahu of the first family of Bollywood and her handsome hubby Abhishek Bachchan who were on the famous American talk show Oprah Winfrey, talked fondly of their family traditions and in the process glorified Indian living style and culture.



In fact, Aishwarya told the host of the show that there was a family tradition of taking one meal at home with all the members, if they are all present in the city limit of Mumbai. The gorgeous bollywood babe went on to elaborate the reasons for doing so by saying that it enhanced their closeness with each other and also kept them posted about trial and tribulations of one another, if any.


Aishwarya Rai also showed the power of Indian tradition and fashion sense by wearing an Indian sari for the occasion.

However, when Oprah Winfrey turned the spotlight on Indian way of marriages, and especially that of Aishwarya and Abhishek as had earlier been held in Mumbai, they seemed somewhat embarrassed.

Their embarrassment came from the fact of fans being lathicharged outside Bachchans’ bungalow for trying to have a glimpse of the star studded wedding being held inside. Oprah showed Aishwarya and Abhishek the footage of above scenes and the couple did not lose time in expressing regrets for the same.

The talks also veered towards Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan still living with their parents Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. To this, the couple again stressed the importance of Indian traditions and revealed that when their grand parents were alive, even they had been staying with them under the same roof.

While it was second time for Aishwarya Rai on Oprah Winfrey show, Abhishek Bachchan received the honor for the first time. He kept the atmosphere light with his one liners and witty remarks on the show.

Oprah also touched the topic of Aishwarya Rai being pregnant and talks about this every now and then in the media.
